LUCK O' The Farm

Special Event Day, Saturday April 16, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM " Luck O' The Farm." Come get acquainted with the Irish Immigrants who worked at Fosterfields. Participate in the spring chores done by the Irish farm and domestic workers. Roll up your sleeves to weigh eggs, plant seeds in flats, and pump water. At The Willows help with annual spring cleaning. Wash clothes, beat rugs. stack wood polish silver. Mrs. Cahill, the farmer's wife will be in the Creamery, help her churn butter. The coachman, Andrew Gibbons will be doing his chores in the Carriage House. Board an open-air wagon for a ride around the farm , while you hear the Irish piper in his traditional garb play tunes on the bagpipe. Stop by at the Visitor Center to hear stories of Irish culture and the music of Linda Russell while making a craft to take home after your day on the farm.
